Doechii Makes History as Third Woman to Win Best Rap Album at the Grammys
LOS ANGELES — Tampa native Doechii made history at the 67th annual Grammy Awards, becoming only the third woman to win Best Rap Album. She joins Cardi B and Lauryn Hill as the only female artists to claim the prestigious honor.
Doechii’s critically acclaimed album, Alligator Bites Never Heal, earned the award, solidifying her place among hip-hop’s elite. The project, praised for its dynamic sound and lyrical depth, resonated with both fans and critics, marking a milestone in her rising career.

The victory puts Doechii in elite company. Lauryn Hill became the first woman to win Best Rap Album in 1997 with The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. More than two decades later, Cardi B followed with Invasion of Privacy in 2019.
