Two of the hottest names in textured hair care are dancing in the aisles and inviting all to join them. On Friday, June 20, from 12 to 3 p.m., Maya + Brian Smith, founders of The Doux, will host an in-store celebration at CVS located at 5815 Campbellton Rd. SW, Atlanta, GA 30331. Expect a party in the parking lot, dancing in the beauty aisle, exclusive deals, giveaways—and a chance to meet the founders behind one of the most dynamic Black-owned brands in beauty.
Guests will have the chance to meet Maya and Brian in person, stock up on their favorite Doux products, and enjoy exclusive discounts and giveaways while supplies last. But this isn’t your average store promo—there’ll be music, movement, and plenty of feel-good vibes from the parking lot to the beauty aisle.
“This is more than a meet-and-greet,” says Maya Smith. “It’s about showing up for our people, honoring the culture, and creating space for joy. And because Atlanta is home for us, this moment feels especially meaningful.” Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering The Doux, this is your chance to stock up, turn up, and vibe out with the team behind the mousse that started it all.
The Doux has become a go-to for curly girls everywhere. Their breakout product, Mousse Def, is the #1 selling mousse in the textured hair category, beloved for its ability web to define curls without crunch, flakes, or buildup.
And just days after the celebration, The Doux is launching something groundbreaking: the Black Beauty AI Challenge. Created in partnership with Black Girls Code, this first-of-its-kind initiative invites Black girls and young women (ages 13–25) to create original 60–90 second videos using AI to express how they define Black beauty, style, and culture. The challenge is designed to ensure that Black identity is seen, celebrated, and taught to AI on our own terms.
The challenge officially opens on June 23, and details—including entry rules, prizes, and inspiration—will be available at www.TheDoux.com. It’s free to enter and open to all eligible creatives ready to show off their talents.
Mark your calendars for June 20. Come for the curls. Stay for the culture. And check out www.TheDoux.com to join the movement. Follow The Doux on Instagram for more news.
