The L.E.A.D. Center for Youth hosted its State of L.E.A.D. 2025 event on February 27. This annual gathering brought together community members, supporters, and stakeholders to celebrate the organization’s impact and future goals.
Celebrating Growth & Expanding Opportunities
The event featured inspiring presentations by L.E.A.D. student Ambassadors. These young leaders shared personal stories of growth, resilience, and success. Their journeys highlighted how L.E.A.D.’s year-round programs help them develop life skills, leadership abilities, and confidence.
A major announcement was the expansion of L.E.A.D.’s partnership with Atlanta Public Schools. The organization will launch a pilot program integrating sports-based youth development into the district’s physical education curriculum. This program will use an interactive social-emotional learning (SEL) approach. This gives students valuable tools to build character, resilience, and teamwork.
L.E.A.D. Going Global
The event also introduced L.E.A.D. Going Global, an exciting initiative aimed at expanding L.E.A.D.’s impact beyond Atlanta. The goal is to empower coaches and communities worldwide to use sports as a tool for youth development.
A key part of this initiative is the launch of Pedagogy For Pros, a coaching certification program designed to professionalize sports-based youth development. This program will equip coaches with trauma-informed coaching techniques. This will help them support youth in a way that fosters both athletic and personal growth. By expanding its reach, L.E.A.D. aims to create more opportunities for youth around the world.
A Vision for the Future
C.J. Stewart, L.E.A.D. Co-Founder, emphasized the importance of the event:
“State of L.E.A.D. is more than just a progress update. It’s a time to strategize and plan for the future. We are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for Black youth, and this event allows our supporters to see firsthand how their commitment is changing lives.”
Supporters and attendees left the event feeling inspired and energized. Plus, ready to continue making a difference in the lives of young people.
