Serayah Talks New Music and Projects on The Way


Actress, musical artist, and dancer, Serayah sat down with Empower Atlanta to discuss some of her upcoming projects. You may know her from her breakout role as 'Tiana Brown' on FOX's hit show 'Empire.'

Since wrapping the sixth and final season of 'Empire' back in 2020, the talented actress has booked various roles on shows such as Kingdom Business on BET+, BMF, and more. Serayah is currently in Atlanta filming season 2 of gospel drama, Kingdom Business, with star Yolanda Adams. The show is executive produced by DeVon Franklin, Holly Carter, Kirk Franklin, and Michael Van Dyck. Serayah plays Rbel, an ex-stripper who goes toe-to-toe with Denita (Yolanda Adams).

She was also cast in "Takeover," which is an upcoming action thriller film in which rapper, Quavo, makes his on-screen debut. In the film, she will play "Lt. Keisha Jenner," the head leader of a special task force assigned to apprehending jewel theives. The movie has wrapped filming, but there is no confirmed release date yet

When she’s not acting in major shows, Serayah is pouring into her first passion, music. Over the past three years, Serayah has begun to flourish as a music artist, writing and co-producing her songs and videos. Her hot first single Driving Me," released in August of 2017, was such an independent phenom that the producers of Freeform's hit show Grown-ish decided to play it in Season 1 of the popular series. Driving Me (+1.5M views) garnered radio play in both huge markets in Los Angeles and New York as well as other major cities across the nation and caught the ears on shows such as MTV's "TRL" and "Wild 'N Out."

She recently released her much anticipated single, "Love or Die" featuring Village Boy Prince from her upcoming EP. The song is about finding love at first sight, which is so cliche, but nothing about her relationship is cliche, Serayah says.
