Las Vegas Sands Donates $100,000 to 100 Black Men Las Vegas to Expand Youth Mentorship, Scholarships, and Community Programs

As part of its ongoing commitment to education, youth empowerment, and community development, Las Vegas Sands has donated $100,000 through its Sands Cares global community engagement program to 100 Black Men Las Vegas. This 2025 donation will strengthen the nonprofit’s impact across Southern Nevada by supporting youth mentorship, scholarship funding, and expanded educational initiatives.

The new funding will enable 100 Black Men Las Vegas to launch innovative programs, including a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education initiative, the Pathways to Public Service program for future law enforcement and first responders, and Realtist Academy, which prepares participants for careers as licensed real estate agents or mortgage brokers.

Additionally, Sands Cares will support the organization’s pursuit of a permanent facility to better serve the Las Vegas community.

“Sands has always understood our goal of empowering youth and families to be healthy, self-sufficient, and successful,” said Gentry Richardson, executive director of 100 Black Men Las Vegas. “Their support has fueled our growth over the past four years, and this latest contribution allows us to expand our reach even further.”

Empowering the Next Generation Through Mentorship and Education

Sands’ continued investment plays a vital role in the success of the organization’s youth leadership development programs, particularly its signature Crossroads mentoring and life skills program for middle and high school students. Crossroads equips youth with over 30 key social-emotional skills to help them excel in school, their future careers, and the community. In 2024 alone, the mentorship programs reached over 1,500 students in the Las Vegas area, resulting in a 20% average GPA increase year-over-year.

The Sands Cares donation also supports the organization’s college scholarship initiative, which awarded over $80,000 in scholarships last year. With the 2025 donation, 100 Black Men Las Vegas aims to grow that impact to $100,000 in scholarships for local students pursuing higher education.

Community Service Programs Making a Lasting Impact

In addition to education and mentorship, Sands’ funding helps sustain impactful community service programs, such as the Virtual Youth Cooking Class and Thanksgiving with the 100 and Friends, an annual event that distributes holiday meals to Las Vegas families in need.

Founded in 1999, 100 Black Men Las Vegas is the local affiliate of the national organization focused on enhancing quality of life and educational opportunities for Black youth and families. The organization offers holistic, long-term support through programs in mentorship, education, health & wellness, economic empowerment, and leadership development.

“100 Black Men Las Vegas continues to be a transformative force in youth development and community service across Southern Nevada,” said Ron Reese, senior vice president of global communications and corporate affairs at Las Vegas Sands. “We are proud to support an organization that delivers real, measurable outcomes for young people and their families.”

This partnership aligns with Sands’ commitment to education and workforce development, ensuring young people have the resources and support needed to build brighter futures.
