Laila Brock Senior Vice President, Community Impact and Strategic Partnerships, Atlanta Dream

Laila Brock joined the Atlanta Dream in December 2022 as Senior Vice President, Community Impact and Strategic Partnerships. In this role, she drives the organization’s efforts to align its mission with business development goals, creating strategies that amplify the team’s core values and strengthen its commitment to community engagement. Brock focuses on building impactful partnerships, fostering meaningful programs, and positioning the Dream as a leader both on and off the court.

With over two decades of experience as a sports executive, Brock brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Atlanta Dream. Before joining the Dream, she served as Vice President of Business Development for JMI Sports, a premier media rights and venue development company. During her tenure at JMI, Brock spearheaded industry outreach and cultivated strategic partnerships, successfully driving revenue growth through innovative events and initiatives.

Prior to her time at JMI Sports, Brock was an integral part of the inaugural College Football Playoff staff, where she served as Senior Director of Operations and Logistics. In this capacity, she was instrumental in designing and executing creative brand activations for sponsors, enhancing the overall experience for stakeholders and fans alike. Earlier in her career, she held various leadership roles with the Orange Bowl Committee, host of the Capital One Orange Bowl. There, she developed and implemented hospitality programs that set new standards and have since become staples for NCAA tournaments and championship events.

Brock’s career began with a focus on social justice and education as Assistant Director for the National Consortium for Academics and Sports’ Mentors in Violence Prevention Program. She promoted initiatives aimed at addressing violence prevention, gender equity, and racial bias among student-athletes. Today, Brock continues to contribute to this mission as a member of the Board of Directors for the Institute for Sport and Social Justice, the program’s successor organization.

An accomplished athlete herself, Brock earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Penn State University, where she was a standout member of the women’s track and field team. As a four-year letter winner and team captain, she exemplified leadership and determination, qualities that have continued to define her professional journey.

In her current role with the Atlanta Dream, Brock remains passionate about leveraging sports as a platform for positive community impact, forging meaningful partnerships, and inspiring the next generation of leaders.

Q, The Atlanta Dream WNBA team is known for its advocacy and commitment to social justice. How does the Atlanta Dream amplify those values through its partnerships and community efforts?

A. This year marks our 18th year in the league, and 2025 is our fourth year with new ownership, new leadership, and a commitment to building the best franchise in the WNBA. We celebrate diversity, represent Atlanta, reward innovation and imagination and aim to empower women both on and off the court. Our community pillars are:
