This past weekend, the first annual Revolt Short & Fresh Film Festival, in partnership with Xfinity, took place at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta. The event was hosted by entertainer and entrepreneur B. Simone.
Below are some of the gems that some of the 1,000 attendees took away from their experience, including watching the screenings of short films, sitting in on panel conversations with rising filmmakers moderated by Etienne Maurice, and a fireside chat with Irv Gotti moderated by Troy and Rashad of Assets over Liabilities.
CREATE, DON'T WAIT!
"I learned to not wait to create! Even if what you are creating isn't getting the recognition you expected, don't let that discourage you. You are building an archive and portfolio that others can view to see your talents and growth. -Joel K.
YOUR NETWORK IS YOUR NET WORTH!
"At industry-related events, everyone in the room is important so talk to as many people as you can. You never know who you'll be collaborating or working with next. -Edwin G.
"Ali Muhammad speaking on turning your thoughts into things resonated with me. Never give up on a dream that you think about every day. Even if that means maxing out a 401k and savings account to build a legacy. Simply never give up. -Kiara M.
