Al Roker and Ronnie DeVoe Among 2024 BGCA Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees

ATLANTA – Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) celebrated its 118th annual National Conference on May 16th by inducting seven new leaders into its 2024 Alumni Hall of Fame class. The event, held in Atlanta, brought together over 3,200 youth development professionals, CEOs, corporate partners, and supporters from across the nation to reflect on and advance their mission of nurturing the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

The ceremony, hosted by ABC News Correspondent and 2023 Alumni Hall of Fame inductee John Quiñones, underscored the transformative impact of providing young people with safe spaces, caring mentors, and enriching programs. Each of the seven honorees credited their time at a Boys & Girls Club as pivotal in their journeys to success.

The 2024 Alumni Hall of Fame inductees are:

  • Al Roker, TODAY Weather and Feature Anchor and Co-host of the 3rd Hour of TODAY
  • Ronnie DeVoe, Member of New Edition & Bell Biv DeVoe
  • Andre Iguodala, NBA Champion
  • Will Reeve, Good Morning America Correspondent
  • Fred McGriff, MLB Hall of Famer
  • Alyse Eady, Fox 5 Atlanta News Reporter & Anchor
  • William Joseph, Pianist, Composer & Producer

Jim Clark, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, expressed his pride in the new inductees. "As we celebrate our national conference, it is an honor and joy to welcome the newest inductees into our 2024 Alumni Hall of Fame," Clark said. "These individuals have made indelible impacts across various fields, personifying what’s possible when young people have access to nurturing environments and life-enhancing programs like those offered at Boys & Girls Clubs. Their stories inspire us all and reaffirm our commitment to supporting young people across the country."

The conference also featured a surprise appearance by eight-time Grammy award winner and Boys & Girls Club alum Usher. Other highlights included motivational talks by global bestselling author and award-winning podcast host Jay Shetty, and Dawn Staley, Head Coach of the NCAA Women’s Basketball champion South Carolina Gamecocks. The evening entertainment included performances by Atlanta entertainer Tony Tatum and impressive displays of youth talent.

From award-winning actors and professional athletes to community and business leaders, Boys & Girls Club alumni hail from diverse backgrounds but share a common foundation of support and opportunity provided by the organization. This year's event celebrated their achievements and reinforced BGCA's dedication to fostering future success stories.
